You follow the vole-man, and he leads you into a red AluSteel corridor. There is a hexagonal doorway, which the creature indicates you should enter.
There's not much point in backing out now.
You step into what sounds like a cavernous room; you can't see a thing, as it's pitch black. There is the smell of stale coffee, and human sweat.
Oh, wait, that last part might be you. You're quite nervous, after all.
You glance around, hoping your eyes will adjust to the light. They don't. At least, they don't before a large, emerald sphere begins to pulsate brightly in front of you, giving you splotchy dots whenever you close your eyes.
"WE ARE THE KALRANTHI ROSETTE," booms a clear, richly tonal voice. "STATE YOUR PURPOSE AND POSITION."
Weakly, you reply, "I'm here because there's some problem between you and QuarrixCo? I'm here to represent them."
"WE ARE AWARE OF THE PROBLEM," the voice says with the authority of a fantastically loud voice in a darkened room. "HOW DO YOU PROPOSE TO MAKE AMENDS?"
"Now, there's the issue," you sigh. "You know the problem, and QuarrixCo probably know the problem, but I'm in the dark."
"YES. IT IS DARK."
"No, I mean, I don't know what the problem is. Me, personally."
"THE CARBONATED BEVERAGES OF QUARRIXCO, KNOWN TO ALL AS QUARRIXCOLA AMONGST OTHER NAMES, ARE INSUFFICIENTLY EFFERVESCENT."
"They're not fizzy enough?" you query.
"NEGATORY! HOW DO YOU PROPOSE TO MAKE AMENDS?"
"Woah, perhaps I still don't understand the problem," you say, unable to grasp the key problem. "You don't like the drinks because they're not fizzy?"
"INCORRECT!" booms the voice once more. You're starting to get a toothache from the volume. "WE LIKE THE DRINKS. BUT THEY ARE INSUFFICIENTLY EFFERVESCENT."
Well, your authority is incredibly limited, but you can think of a few potential solutions.
If you think it's a good idea to try to refund the Kalranthi Rosette's purchases, turn to
page 52.
Or, if you think there's more sense in offering to change the formula of the drinks (which you may or may not be able to convince corporate to do), turn to
page 64.
Remember those bags you've been lugging around with you all day? Seriously, how could you forget? Anyway, they're full of drinks, so if you think the Kalranthi will be interested in them, turn to
page 68.
